Henderson Real Estate is a husband/wife team that rents houses to military members who are TDY to Scott AFB, IL. The advantage of living in a Henderson property is that you get a real house for the same price as a hotel room. Our current tenants appreciate this benefit, especially those on orders for an extended period of time.
Sue Henderson is an Army Reserve LTC who lives in O’Fallon, IL, right outside of Scott Air Force Base. Bill Henderson looks after the properties, and acts as handyman. They decided to start up this business after Sue spent 15 months at Scott on TDY orders in 2003/2004. She discovered that it can be a painful experience, and found out that the options were very limited for folks who didn’t like the idea of living in a hotel, were not in a position to sign a lease, or had a family traveling with them.
Sue and Bill moved from Boston to O’Fallon and wanted to provide something better for those on TDY. They offer temporary full service furnished lodging in beautiful homes in residential neighborhoods. Their homes are complete with bedding, dishes, linens, pot and pans – everything you need. Utilities included: high-speed internet, extended cable, free nationwide long distance calling, gas, electric, sewer, water, and garbage disposal. Each house has a garage, a washer & dryer, and a gas grill and patio set.
The cost is equal to the amount of the per diem rate for the area, which covers everything – there are no additional charges and you will receive one receipt. There is no deposit required and no lease to sign.
